This week we have been focusing on choosing respect as a theme for anti bullying week and the school’s half term value. On Monday Mrs Barwin led an assembly on choosing respect and how this ensures that our children respect each other as well as adults in their lives. This was followed up in class and the children thought about how other members of their class show respect.
In maths the children have continued to focus on measuring lengths and using this to solve word problems. For home learning we have sent home a sheet from the nRich website that we would like you to discuss with your child and make appropriate suggestions. If you are stuck you can look on the website for ideas.
In big writing the children looked at an image of a character from a story and thought of questions they would like to ask her. The class wrote a letter to the character together, asking some of these questions. This will be followed on next week when the character replies to their questions!
In computing the children are carrying on creating power points about their chosen location in St Albans. In history the children have begun to look at the impact and growth / changes with the introduction of trains and stations within St Albans.
A gentle reminder that the children all have Bug Club logins and the books have recently been updated. Well done to those children who are going on there regularly.
Next week we have switch off fortnight and don’t forget movie night is on Friday.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Fernandes, Mrs Hostein and Miss Spencer.
