It’s not only the shops which are getting ready for Christmas. Year 1 has been very busy practicing our songs and our order of service for the Songs at St Lukes. We are getting really good at it but we need to learn lots of words and a variety of music.
In the meantime, we have continued to learn about the UK and the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world. In Science, we have been on a sensory walk to find out what we could hear, see, smell and feel in the school playground.
We have started to practice addition and subtraction of a two-digit and one one-digit numbers using the number facts the children already know. It is really important that the children practice the number bonds to all numbers up to 10. Please keep practicing these at home as well, both practically and in writing.
Traction Men is Here! We are doing a series of lessons using the book “Traction Man” by Mini Grey. The children love the story and have described the main character using lots of adjectives. Next they will plan and write a recount of a day in the life of Traction Man.
As we write, most children are enjoying the Movie Night, watching Despicable Me in Green Class, which has been organised and run by CHIS. Thank you to all the parents for volunteering to help.
Have you all a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday.
