What a fantastic and busy start to the final half term in year 2!
This morning one of our children represented the school at the opening of the new St Albans’ museum. Mrs Fernandes and the child had an interesting time walking around the museum following a photo opportunity with the mayor of St Albans.
Lots of discussion around our year 2 production has occurred this week. The children have worked really hard to get this together and now know their parts. We will send a letter home next week regarding costumes. Thank you in advance for your help!
In maths we have continued with measures. The children have been measuring in mls and l and reading scales of various steps. They have also been converting amounts of volumes between L and mls. We have sent a sheet home to continue practising this. Please encourage your child to find all possibilities.
In D&T the children have been introduced to papier mache as a way of combining different materials to create a finished product which will be continued next week.
In science the children have been looking at different habitats and at the differences between animals that live there.
Next week is a very busy week with Spirited Arts day, a dance workshop and healthy living workshops. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Hostein, Mrs Fernandes and Miss Spencer.
