Over the past two days the children have done a variety of activities based on the school’s fiftieth birthday and also done the sorts of activities which children did in the 1960’s. They have played traditional party games and “beetle drive”, made tie-die cloths, painted flowers, designed and coloured “groovy” bubble writing and collectively drawn a “peace tree”. Today we all enjoyed going outside and playing “in and out the dusty bluebells” and “The farmer’s in his den”. We have also been practising the twist. Perhaps your children could show you their moves! Everyone looked fantastic in their 1960s clothes. When I asked the class what they thought of when they thought of green class, they all said that they thought of the people – the adults and the children. So a photograph of everyone in green class will go in the time capsule which will be buried tomorrow.
