The sun shone upon us today and we were able to join in Outdoor Classroom Day. We had planned a range of activities and I will let the pictures (and the children) to speak for themselves.
Both classes were split in groups and each group participated on all activities.
They each made a kite, flew it in fields and took it home. I hope you can have a go (after the rain).
They then found out how many daisies could they stand on but cutting out their footprints in card, estimating how many daisies would fit into their ‘foot’ and then counted out.
Following up from our seaside topic for this half-term, the children built sandcastles and decorated them beautifully.
Another favourite activity was the memory game. The children were fantastic at remembering which items were in the bag.
At the end of the day, they each chose a seed to plant, after guessing which plant that seed will become. Once their seeds germinate, they will be sent home so they can watch it grow.
It started to rain as soon as we came back inside to get ready to go home. We were so pleased with how involved everyone were in the activities, asking pertinent questions and really moving their learning into practice.
