We have had a very busy week in year 1, doing lots of different things.

With Mrs Haynes and Mrs Hogan, we tried our ingredients for our sandwiches we will make next week.

In R.E we began the topic ’Festivals of Light’ and started by discussing about how can light makes us feel.

This half term’s topic for Geography is the countries of the United Kingdom. Yesterday we talked about England and its capital London by going on an imaginary trip around the city. Today the children wrote lovely postcards describing the landmarks we saw and talked about.

During the week we made poppy collages, which we put together as a wreath. In our assembly today we brought our class poppies in and presented them during an early Remembrance service, where we showed our respect for the fallen soldiers by giving two minutes silence.

Congratulations to our school councils for this term: Ollie and Sasha in Green Class and Caitlin and Leo in Purple Class.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
