This week started with the election and parade of our May King and Queen. On Tuesday all children in school sang their favourite songs to entertain the school royalty.
The children have started writing the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. They remember the story so well, in so much detail, that they didn’t have time to finish writing today! We were really impressed.
In Maths we will start using the strategies we have learnt to add and subtract numbers within 100. They are confident in place value and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Please continue to practice number bonds with your children to help with strategies such as making ten first when adding ones to two-digit numbers.
In Science we planted our beans and we are going to observe and record their growth. We have planted two types of beans so we can compare differences and similarities between them. The children have been very curious and we hope that over this long weekend we will have some roots for them to see.
We are still discussing special books, so if your child has a special book, please bring into class. It will be looked after and sent home shortly.
We also had a visitor from Childnet who talked to the children about how to stay safe when playing with their electronic devices. It was lovely to see some parents who came to the workshop during the day.
Enjoy the long weekend and see you all back on Tuesday.
