We kicked the week off with an assembly to learn how to reserve energy for Switch off Fortnight. Our Eco Ambassadors attended a meeting and came back to the Year 1 children with stickers to distribute to make sure we are all aware of the things we can do to conserve energy, e.g. switching off lights in rooms when they are not needed.

In Maths, we have been working with numbers up to 20, especially teen numbers. Star Words have included: before, after, the difference between.

In Literacy, we have been writing an invitation for our Year 1 party, that will be held next Thursday 29th November at 2pm. This will be an opportunity for the children to make their fruit pizzas or fruit kebabs for our special guests. This event is closely linked to our History topic on parties and how they have changed through the ages.

As we sign-off this blog, the Year 1 children are enjoying the CHISS Movie night event!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to another busy week of learning next week.

Regards, Mrs. Haynes & Mrs. Caramelo.
