We had another week full of different activities in Year 1. On Monday we were invited to a Christmas Trail at St Paul’s Church and both classes enjoyed a variety of activities including acting, crafts, watching movies, singing, etc. It was a great morning and they behaved beautifully during the walk and the activities.
Today the children retold the story of the first Christmas and once again impressed us with their writing skills.
The children had a dress rehearsal of their tableau to the whole school and it is sounding amazing already ~ although we are biased, so we leave it as a surprise for you all. Both performances on Tuesday and Wednesday are booking up fast so if you haven’t yet, please let the office know when you are coming as spaces are limited at St Luke’s Church.
We have noticed that a surprisingly high number of children are not bringing their library books to change. A reminder of our class library days: Purple Class ~ Wednesday / Green Class ~ Thursday. Also, please make sure your child has their reading diaries and books in their bags everyday. We ask them all to hand in their books and diaries on Mondays and Fridays, however they can be changed any day of the week if they have read at home.
Now, there’s pretty much only one week to go and it will be another busy one. Two performances and on Friday we have our Christmas lunch and perhaps a special visitor. All children can dress up in their festive clothes for the day.
Have you all a lovely weekend and fingers crossed for some snow fun!
