This week as a school we have been taking part in waste week.
Red and Blue class took this opportunity to focus on reducing and reusing waste. We discussed how many everyday items are thrown into the bin and ways we can reuse them to make something new.
The children worked either individually, in pairs or in groups to create a model using a variety of resources or reusing paper to make a picture. They used glue and sellotape to attach different materials together and used cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, bottle tops, material, tubes and other junk modelling resources to create their models. We had some fantastic creations including a pig, a robot, boats and a tractor.
The children listened to each others ideas and collaborated to make their model or picture. They then explained what they had made and discussed what they liked about their own and other children’s models.
