Well done to all the children for sports day this afternoon. All the children took part with good spirit and enjoyed themselves. Thank you to the parents who came and led a group around and to those who supported the children.
This week in maths we have looked at data. The children have created different types of charts and interpreted this information.
We have continued investigating different types of poetry and begun to learn about kennings. They enjoyed listening to a poem called Tiger which describes a tiger through kennings – 2 word clues: meat eater, colour flasher and fast sleeker.
The children have written an adventure story today about a boy and his grandad setting sail and arriving at an island where their adventure begins!
Yesterday was Spirited Arts day where the children created a piece of art work from a given question: Where is God? They then had to write an explanation of their art work. The best 10 pieces from the school will be entered into a national competition.
The children continued to learn about seed dispersal. They enjoyed making a clay burr to represent how seeds disperse by sticking to animal’s coats.
We look forward to seeing you all next week at consultation evenings.
Next week we will be sending home song words ready to learn for the summer concert please.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Fernandes, Mrs Hostein and Miss Spencer.
