We hope you all had a lovely holiday and are now ready for the final term in year 2!
This week the children have begun activities related to our new topic: What is life like down under?
In maths we have looked at 2d and 3d shapes and their properties. This will be continued next week and we have sent home an activity to complete which will help them to use the maths vocabulary for shapes.
In writing we have begun to look at the features of a non chronological report. The children identified the features in different reports about animals and thought about what sub headings they could use.
The children have begun to practise their dance ready for the may fair, so we hope to see you all there!
In science the children investigated things that are alive, have been alive or have never been alive. They thought carefully about how we know something is alive and then sorted the objects into a table.
In Literacy and Language the children have begun a new topic where they read a book called the Night Shimmy and thought about their own possible invisible friend and what they might look like.
Our trip to Heartwood Forest has been rescheduled for Thursday May 17th. We hope the weather will be kinder to us and that we observe animals in their habitats.
Have a lovely weekend
The year 2 Team.
