Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely half term week.
Today the children enjoyed being introduced to our new book: Traction Man! They listened and then read the whole story. This was then followed by all the children reading aloud one page with actions if they chose too! This will be continued next week when we sequence the events of the story.
In maths this week we have continued subtraction on a number line. We have sent some home for home learning to practise this method. Please see picture below. Next week we begin multiplication as repeated addition, skip counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and then using the x symbol.
In science the children were practising their investigative skills.
We have begun to make some clay poppies and learn about the meaning of Remembrance Day. Next week these will be painted and taken to assembly on Friday when the children will observe a 2 minute silence.
Gold class enjoyed their first swimming session this week and all were extremely well behaved and listened well. Silver class began their games sessions developing the skills to work as a team. On Mondays the children will carry on developing their gymnastics skills.
Have a lovely weekend. Keep safe with fireworks
The year 2 team.
