After a very exciting week which included: a Rock Steady meeting on Monday, making pancakes on Tuesday, World Book day on Thursday and a paper engineer visitor (John O Leary) today, the children have had a very creative week. Please see various pictures below.

In maths this week we have been looking at measures. The week began with length using cms and m, we then went onto g and kgs and then L and mls, finishing today with temperature and centigrade which included looking at minus numbers.

In computing we finally worked out the culprit who stole the chocolate cake from the staffroom. To do this we were given a final clue and we then entered the information into an Excel spreadsheet. The children then used the filter function to find the remaining culprit. We will be emailing Mrs Cooper next week with the information we have found out.

In science we looked at an inventor: John McAdam. The children learnt about his life and his invention which was called macadamisation which today is known as tarmac after tar was added at a later date. The children will write fact files about him next week.

Big writing today was looking at the build up of the story Journey. In groups of six the children created a story board showing the build up in six sections. They then used these this afternoon with John O Leary to create pop up books. These will be finished next week and available for you to see.

Please remember that next week we have our Great Fire of London Day on Thursday so please dress your child as a child in 1666!

Have a lovely weekend.
