It was lovely to meet so many of you yesterday evening at the Meet the teacher meeting. For those unable to attend the packs of information have been given to your children to bring home today. If you do have any questions or concerns then please don’t hesitate to contact one of us.
The children this week have continued with place value of numbers to 99 in maths. They have partitioned them into tens and units and been investigating the values of the digits on place value charts. They have also been introduced to the symbols for less than <, greater then> and is equal to =. They then used these to compare 2 two digit numbers and explain why one is greater / lesser than the other.
Yesterday was Roald Dahl day so we did our Big Write then. We read some more of Fantastic Mr Fox and then began to use adjectives in front of nouns: Red fox, deep tunnels. The home learning activity this week will help your child to practise this.
In computing the children were introduced to a new app on purple mash called 2connect. They will be using this to build a mind map of questions and answers about a place in St Albans next week.
Gold class had a good introductory swimming session, but can we please remind you that all children do need a swimming hat. Silver class enjoyed a fun, physical PE lesson.
The children have continued to work on the models of a map of Verulamium park. These are still work in progress but are beginning to take shape.
Home learning books have been sent home today. Please can they be returned by next Wednesday or before.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Hostein, Mrs Fernandes and Miss Spencer.
