This week we had a visitor to school from Childnet who spoke to the children about keeping themselves whilst they are on the internet. They thought about what their personal details were and how they should not give them out to strangers or people they think they might know over the internet.

The children have written a non fiction report on kangaroos today to show all the features they have learnt about over the last couple of weeks: heading, subtitles, technical vocabulary, diagrams, paragraphs, introduction and conclusion / ending.

In maths the children have been investigating the place value of 3 digit  numbers: ones, tens and hundreds to 999. To compare the numbers they have used the vocabulary of greater and lesser than and then explained why a number is greater or lesser using their place value knowledge.

In geography having completed a booklet about the continents of the world, the children have now arrived in Australia and begun to name the different states which is developing their map skills.

In music we have begun to learn the songs that will be in the year 2  production!

We have also been practising our dance ready for the May fair next Saturday so we hope to see you all there.

Have a lovely, sunny long weekend, see you on Tuesday!

Mrs Fernandes, Mrs Hostein and Miss Spencer.
