It seems to have been a week that we have dodged the showers and enjoyed splashing in puddles when the sun was out. Autumn is well and truly with us. The children have enjoyed observing the changes in the weather and have been thinking of words to describe them. We then used these words to add interest to our poetry writing, based on Shirley Hughes book, Out and About.

In Maths, the children have continued to use manipulatives to secure their knowledge of numbers to 20. Please incorporate counting when you are out and about by counting trees, fallen leaves, conkers or acorns; or at home this could be when laying the table, counting the socks from the laundry pile or pieces of lego, etc.

In Geography, we have started to look at maps of our local area, in readiness for our trip to Highfield Park next week. We have been observing natural and human-made features, as well as the signage that we will see on our journey to the park. Please remember that all children need to wear school uniform, with the addition of a raincoat and possible welligtons or old shoes. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to be with us on Thursday morning, we should be back to school before 12noon.

Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning.

Miss. Spencer & Mrs. Caramelo
