In maths this week we have begun multiplication and division. We began with repeated addition calculations, then lots of and finally used the multiplication sign. We used arrays to solve investigations.
Today the children continued their work from last week when they were introduced to a character from a book. This character is passionately against hunting so the children were introduced to fox hunting and then investigated arguments for and against. They then had paired and class debates about why fox hunting should or shouldn’t be banned.
In science the children have been introduced to simple food chains using the scientific vocabulary of predator, prey, consumer, carnivore, herbivore and omnivore.
The children have continued Power Points in computing and are using a range of fonts. They are copying and pasting pictures and information to answer their questions.
This week has been the first week of Switch off Fortnight. It was launched in a whole school assembly on Monday informing the children about saving energy, the planet and the world.
Have a lovely weekend
