Today was our first whole school trip to Heartwood Forest.
It was a great day to launch Science Week next week, and luckily the weather held out for us.
Each year group enjoyed a range of activities
EYFS – a nature hunt to think about what we could hear, see, smell and touch (not taste!!) then an afternoon of activities including photos from different perspectives, building homes for Bog Baby, tree rubbings, minibeast hunts.
Y1 and 2 both had an opportunity to build dens, thinking about the best way to create a structure and working collaboratively. They then explored a wide range of activities including sketching and measuring. They made links to many aspects of the curriculum.
Thank you to all of the helpers, parents, grandparents, au pairs for giving up your day to support us, particularly outside in this weather!
Have a restful weekend
