Another very busy week in Year 1.
On Tuesday, we had a REAL day. We discussed the theme of making peace in RE, represented peace using Art and described our artwork and ideas in Literacy. It was a fantastic creative day and our work is displayed in the classrooms. This is part the Spirited Arts competition, promoted by Natre.
On Wednesday we practised aboriginal moves during our Dance Workshop. We really enjoyed creating moves to didgeridoo music, copying animal movement and performing a choreography as a group.
On Thursday we thought about healthy living through several activities, followed by a fitness class.
Today in Computing we learned to make cards using Purple Mash. If you would like to practise at home, you can find it on ToDos.
Our lovely caterpillars are getting fatter and are starting to settle to spin their cocoons. We are really excited and looking forward to them turning into amazing butterflies.
Next week we will be saying good luck to Mrs Foulds who is taking her maternity leave. She will be back next year!
Next Friday is also our Sports Day. Please remember to check if your child has a full PE kit in their bags as they will be wearing the white t-shirts, black/blue shorts and trainers as well as a water bottle. The children will be going back home wearing their PE kits that day, to be returned the following week. Also remember to apply suncream and wear a hat, if possible. Green Class is still looking for parent volunteers to help a group of children. Sports Day is not possible without the help of parents/carers and we appreciate the involvement of those who have already volunteered.
Have you all a fantastic weekend, especially to the families celebrating Eid. Eid Mubarak!
