Another busy week for year 2.

In writing the children researched another Australian animal. They read the information and highlighted the important key words. From these they then wrote some notes using bullet points. This will be continued next week and then the children will be writing a non chronological report on their chosen animal.

In maths we have been recalling some of the methods we have learnt in year 2. We have been reminding ourselves of the four main symbols for calculations and the associated vocabulary. We then used empty number lines to solve addition and subtraction and arrays to solve multiplication. In division we shared out parts equally to find the answer as well as using our knowledge of the times tables.

We have continued with our aboriginal art work. The children have really enjoyed designing their leaves with dots and patterns. These will be displayed in the hall and classrooms. The children have been practising their dance for the May fair so we look forward to seeing you all at the fair tomorrow!

Have a lovely weekend.
