Another busy week in year 2.
This week the children have enjoyed creating their egg box dragons! They designed them, collected the resources and then worked in pairs to assemble them. Then the dragons were painted and details finished off. This led to big writing today when the children wrote instructions for how to make their egg box dragon. They enjoyed being bossy with their imperative verbs! The activity for home learning will practise this.
In maths this week the children have continued learning about fractions and comparing different fractions.
In science the children named and compared a variety of materials according to their property.
The mystery of the disappearing chocolate cake continues! The children received another email from Miss Cooper and this time it had some information on and an audio clip attached to the email. The children talked about the safety of opening attachments. After this they then devised a table in Word or Excel to record the information they had been given.
In RE the children began to think about trees and how important they are in our lives and according to different religions. They can be symbolic of positivity, energy and new life.
This week we sent a letter home about our history off the page day on the 28th February. If you are able to help on this day please do let us know. If you are only able to do a morning or afternoon, we can accommodate this.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Fernandes, Mrs Hostein and Miss Spencer.
